Molokai is rated by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as one of the most vulnerable communities in Maui County, because of the lack of hospital and medical resources available.

According to the CDC, social vulnerability refers to “the community’s capacity to prepare for and respond to the stress of hazardous events...including disease outbreaks"

While it is true that Molokai definitely lacks medical resources, we are able to work together in other ways to ensure our island's population stays healthy and safe. Our community is extremely rich in knowledge and very resourceful. Plus we are never short of people willing to lend a helping hand in times of need. I have added some of the amazing community efforts that are happening in light of this pandemic to my website, so that people can easily find and utilize the community efforts if needed and get involved to help when or if they are capable.

Please feel free to contact me to have community efforts added to the website and last but most importantly, please make sure to stay safe, practice good hygiene and maintain social distancing in any community effort you take part in.
